Creating Digital Educational Resources on Sustainability: SMART-HEAD Workshop in Cluj-Napoca

On 24 and 25 June 2026, representatives of the four SMART-HEAD partner universities met in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for a hands-on workshop hosted by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

A shared resource framework

The meeting focused on creating digital educational resources for sustainability and integrating them into the SMART-HEAD learning ecosystem. The teams reviewed project progress, discussed the findings from student research and refined the concept for the daily sustainability cards.

Multilingual and quality-assured

The cards will be complemented by monthly quizzes, progress tracking and gamification elements. All core resources will be available in English, Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals were allocated among the four partner teams, supporting coordinated development of the complete collection. Educator-created content will undergo human and expert review before publication.

The next steps

The participants approved the SMART-HEAD web playground for testing the first pilot cards. It will help evaluate content structure, accessibility and user experience before integration into the full digital ecosystem and mobile application.

Next steps include expanding the card and question banks, refining the database and mobile app, preparing translations and conducting integrated testing.
