2. Information processed when you visit the website
When the website is accessed, the web server may automatically record technical information necessary for security, operation and statistical reporting. This may include:
- IP address;
- date and time of the request;
- requested page or file;
- HTTP status and request method;
- browser and device information supplied by the user agent;
- referring page,, when supplied by the browser.
This information is recorded in Apache server logs. The website does not use these logs to identify visitors by name.
3. Website statistics
The website maintains visitor statistics to monitor the dissemination and public reach of the SMART-HEAD project and to support project reporting.
The statistical system records page views, approximate visitor and visitor-day counts, 30-minute sessions, requested page paths and the distinction between external and administrative traffic.
Raw IP addresses and complete user-agent strings are not stored in the WordPress statistical database. They are transformed into keyed one-way hashes used to distinguish visits and sessions. Administrative traffic is counted separately and is not included in the principal external-visitor indicators.
Statistics are used only for website administration, security, performance assessment, dissemination monitoring and project reporting. They are not used for advertising, commercial profiling or automated decisions about individual visitors.
4. Purpose and legal basis
Technical information and visitor statistics are processed for the following purposes:
- maintaining the security and reliable operation of the website;
- detecting technical problems, misuse and automated attacks;
- measuring the public reach of the SMART-HEAD project;
- meeting project monitoring, dissemination and reporting requirements.
The processing is limited to what is necessary for the legitimate administration and security of the website and for the performance, monitoring and reporting of the publicly funded SMART-HEAD project.
5. Cookies
The public pages of the website do not use advertising or behavioural-profiling cookies.
WordPress may use essential cookies for authenticated administrators and editors. These cookies are required for login, security and website administration and are not used to track public visitors for advertising purposes.
6. External services and links
The website contains links to external services, including the Erasmus+ project platform and the SMART-HEAD profiles on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. These services operate under their own privacy policies. Information is transferred to them only when a visitor follows an external link.
The website may retrieve the Montserrat font from Google Fonts. When this resource is loaded, the visitor’s browser may connect to Google’s servers and transmit technical connection information, including the IP address. Google processes this information under its own privacy terms.
7. Data retention and security
Server logs are retained only for the period necessary for website security, technical administration and the applicable project reporting and audit requirements. Statistical and aggregated information may be retained throughout the project and the required reporting and audit period.
Access to server logs and the statistical administration interface is restricted to authorised administrators. Appropriate technical and organisational measures are applied to protect the information against unauthorised access, alteration or loss.
8. Sharing of information
Visitor information is not sold or used for commercial advertising. It may be accessible to authorised Technical University of Sofia system administrators and, where required, to competent authorities, auditors or project-monitoring bodies in accordance with applicable law and project obligations.
Project reports use aggregated statistics and do not identify individual website visitors.
9. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of applicable data-protection law, you may request information about the processing of your personal data and exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction or objection. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection supervisory authority.
Because the statistical database uses one-way hashes rather than raw identifiers, it may not be technically possible to associate a statistical record with a particular individual without additional information.
